Cross-border agency payments
Cross-border agency milestone payments without a 20% marketplace cut
Run international client-agency projects with clear milestones, recorded evidence and a 3.5% Covalt Work platform fee—not a 15–20% marketplace commission.
No outcome, no fee. The stated Covalt Work platform fee is 3.5% when the agreed outcome lands. Covalt is non-custodial; configured payment rails process authorisation, capture and payout.
The difference
From payment friction to agreed conditions.
The old way
- Marketplace commissions can take 15–20% of project value.
- Agency and client rely on separate invoices, messages and PDF statements of work.
- International payment timing and corridor availability can be unclear until settlement.
The Covalt Work way
- Work directly through a Pact between the client and agency.
- Agree the completion conditions and evidence before work starts.
- Use configured payment rails; settlement follows the transaction rules when conditions are satisfied.

Questions, answered
Before you start a Work Pact
How much could an agency save on a £15,000 project?
At 15%, a marketplace commission is £2,250. At 3.5%, the Covalt Work platform fee is £525—a £1,725 difference before any other payment or FX charges.
Can client and agency be in different countries?
Cross-border work is a core use case, but available currencies, countries and settlement rails depend on the configured corridor. Confirm eligibility for your specific transaction.
Does Covalt Work hold client funds?
No. Covalt is non-custodial: it records the Pact, agreed conditions and outcome. Authorisation, capture and payout are handled by the configured regulated payment rails; availability and timing depend on the transaction and corridor.
What happens if a milestone is disputed?
The Pact keeps the agreed conditions and submitted evidence together so the parties can review the same record. Sonar and Guard Dog can provide matching and risk signals where configured; they are not a court, arbitrator or substitute for an agreed dispute process. A disputed outcome should follow the terms agreed by the parties and any applicable rail procedures.
Which payment rails can I use?
Available rails and settlement corridors depend on the parties, currency, transaction and current provider support. The available option is confirmed during setup; do not assume every rail or country is supported for every Pact.
